Isn’t the vagina self-cleaning? Why do I need a cleanser?
While the vagina cleans itself, the vulva does not, which is where pH Balanced Cleanser™ comes into play!
For vaginas, it’s all about a balanced diet, female-friendly probiotics, and good personal hygiene that does not include douching, harsh soaps, or chemicals that disrupt vaginal flora.
As for the vulva, it needs safe and external cleansing to protect the vaginal environment. The pH Balanced Cleanser™ is designed to maintain good bacteria during cleansing instead of disrupting vaginal flora. You can read more about maintaining a clean vaginal environment here.
What’s the pH of the cleanser?
The pH of the cleanser is 4.2. A healthy vaginal pH can range anywhere between 3.8 - 4.5, as it's unique to each person.
What's the difference between the Love Wellness pH Balanced Cleanser™ and other cleansers?
We don’t believe ingredients like fragrance, parabens, essential oils like lavender oil and tea tree oil, sulfates, and surfactants like SLS, SLES, and PEG belong in women’s vaginal care products. Because of our belief, we make our pH Balanced Cleanser™ without any of these ingredients. Some other personal care cleaners, bar soaps, body washes and more may contain these ingredients.

Does pH Balanced Cleanser™ have any parabens or sulfates?
Our cleanser formula is free of parabens and sulfates.

Is pH Balanced Cleanser™ vegan and cruelty free?
Yes, pH Balanced Cleanser™ is vegan and is not tested on animals.
What's the difference between the vagina and the vulva?
The vulva encompasses all of the external organs, including the pubic mound, the labia majora and minora, the clitoris, the external openings of the urethra and the vagina. The vagina, on the other hand, is the internal muscular canal that leads to the cervix (the opening to the uterus).
Our pH Balanced Cleanser™ is for external use only and should only be used for the vulva and not in the vagina.
How long does the pH Balanced Cleanser™ last? Does it expire?
pH Balanced Cleanser™ will last 2 years through its expiration date if unopened and properly stored in a clean and dry space, away from areas that experience humidity, moisture, or excess heat. Once opened, we recommend using within 2 months to preserve your product. While we know pH Balanced Cleanser™ belongs in your shower/bath, it’s important to store your bottle away from continuously running water - a shelf or dry corner will be the best location!
