In case you missed it—I’m pregnant! My husband and I are expecting our first baby in January. I’m unbelievably excited and as always, I’ll be sharing the highs, lows, and honest in-betweens over the next few months.
Our embryo transfer was in April, and we are so lucky it worked—but wow, I didn’t know what I was in for. I spent my first trimester nauseous, faint, short of breath, and I gained 20 pounds in just one month from the hormones and supporting medications (follstim, progesterone, and estrogen to name a few).
The rapid change was emotionally taxing, but now that I’m in my 5th month of pregnancy, I’m starting to feel more like myself again.
So let’s talk about my current AM routine, and what I’m doing to feel grounded and supported as I’m becoming a mom.
-
Go-To Breakfast:
I love starting my day with a chocolate protein coffee shake (under the advised caffeine limit for pregnancy, of course). I just mix protein directly into an iced coffee. I pair that with cottage cheese topped with fruit. It’s packed with protein, and so delicious. -
Good Girl Probiotics®
You’ll never catch me skipping my probiotics. Ours is backed by the gut-vagina connection and helps maintain a healthy vaginal microbiome, which also helps support fertility and pregnancy.* -
Hello Burn™ Energize
Okay, not only are these electrolytes delicious but because they have vitamin B6, a pregnancy fave for so many women! It gives me steady, caffeine-free energy support, without the crash, jitters, or sugar.* Total life saver. -
Staying Active: Taking care of myself means finding ways to move that work for me in this phase of life. Right now, I’m lifting weights three times a week, and taking my dog, Tomato, on plenty of long walks.
-
pH Balanced Cleanser™
Our OB/GYN-developed cleanser is always in my shower. Don’t get me wrong, I love a soothing spa scent, but the reality is fragrance doesn’t belong anywhere near your vulva. This one matches your natural pH and works to soothe and hydrate intimate skin. Love!
Remember to talk to your doctor before starting any type of new routine or supplement! Nothing is more important than your and baby’s health. What works for me might not work for you—and that’s totally okay.
I’m so grateful to be able to share my journey with you all.
Talk soon,
Lo
